In the middle of 2020, when everything felt uncertain, we decided to invest in something that would give us freedom, creativity, and adventure: a van – Ford Transit.
With no prior experience in van builds, we rolled up our sleeves and taught ourselves everything along the way. Hours of sketching layouts, watching YouTube, comparing materials, and countless trips to the hardware store later, our simple cargo van slowly transformed into a cozy little home on wheels. It took us around 3 months to built our first ever camper van. Unlike most people who build out their vans in a spacious garage or driveway, we did everything inside our small apartment. We turned living room and balcony corners into a mini workshop and carrying lumber up the stairs.

Our first version was functional, minimal, and honestly full of quirks. But it worked. We hit the road with excitement, discovering the freedom of waking up to mountain views, pulling over at hidden beaches, and cooking meals wherever the road took us.
We took long drives from California through Arizona and Utah, all the way to New Mexico, Colorado, and Idaho for two weeks of pure escape in our little home on wheels. And it wasn’t just once; we found ourselves hitting the road for trips like this again and again.

And we kept it up for nearly two years where we were taking the van out not only on big trips getaways, until office life slowly called us back more often than during the Covid days.
Still, the van remained our go-to for spontaneous weekend adventures, which made us realize in 2023 it deserved a full rebuild to make it even more comfortable and better suited for the way we travel now.
This van has been with us through so many chapters: our first DIY build in 2020, many years of road trips and weekend escapes, and now a full rebuild in 2023. It’s more than just a van; it’s our little home on wheels, always ready to take us wherever the road leads next.
